Are There Any iPhone/iOS Settings I Should or Shouldn't Use with My BUZUD CGM App?

To ensure you receive all BUZUD CGM sensor readings and alerts, please check the recommended iPhone settings below.
Note: Setting locations may vary slightly depending on your iOS version and device model.

Settings You Should Avoid (These May Disrupt App Functionality)

1. Screen Time

Enabling "Downtime" or "App Limits" in Screen Time can restrict the BUZUD app. This may prevent you from opening the app, receiving alerts, or viewing sensor data.

How to turn off Screen Time restrictions:

  • Open the iPhone Settings
  • Tap Screen Time
  • Turn off Downtime and App Limits, or add the BUZUD app to the Always Allowed list

2. Do Not Disturb

Do Not Disturb silences all alerts, including high and low glucose warnings from BUZUD CGM. For safety, avoid using this mode while using the BUZUD system.

How to turn off Do Not Disturb:

  • Open the iPhone Settings
  • Turn off Do Not Disturb

3. Low Power Mode

When enabled, Low Power Mode may prevent the BUZUD app from running in the background. This can cause delayed alerts or interrupted data.

How to turn off Low Power Mode:

  • Open the iPhone Settings
  • Tap Battery
  • Turn off Low Power Mode

Required Permissions (Must Be Enabled for Proper Operation)

1. Notifications

Notifications allow the BUZUD app to alert you of glucose changes. You must enable this to receive readings and alerts in real-time.

How to enable Notifications:

  • Open the iPhone Settings
  • Scroll down and tap BUZUD
  • Tap Notifications
  • Enable Allow Notifications and select preferred alert styles (e.g., sounds, banners)

2. Bluetooth

BUZUD CGM uses Bluetooth to communicate with the sensor. iOS requires you to manually grant Bluetooth access to the app.

How to enable Bluetooth permission:

  • Open the iPhone Settings
  • Make sure Bluetooth is turned on
  • Scroll down and tap BUZUD
  • Enable the Bluetooth toggle

If you continue to experience issues such as signal loss, delayed alerts, or missing readings, please verify that all of the above settings are correctly configured, or contact BUZUD Customer Support for assistance.
