What are the contraindications for using this device?
Contraindications
The device should not be used in the following situations:
- Patients with Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media (CSOM): Individuals with chronic ear infections should not use this device.
- Congenital Ear Atresia or Any Type of Ear Discharge: Those with congenital ear canal abnormalities or any type of ear discharge are advised against using this device.
- Age Restrictions: The device is not suitable for anyone under 36 months old.
- Fluctuating Hearing Loss: Individuals whose degree of hearing loss often fluctuates should not use this device.
- Symptomatic Concerns: Those experiencing persistent headaches, dizziness, earaches, tinnitus, or other symptoms that are not suitable for adaptation should avoid using this device.
- Recent or Rapid Hearing Loss: Individuals who have experienced sudden onset of hearing loss within the past 3 months, rapid progressive deafness, or unilateral hearing loss should not use this device.
- Ear Secretions or Frequent Pus: Those with effusion (secretions/discharge) in the ear and/or frequent purulence (pus) are advised against using this device.
- Central or Non-Organic Deafness: Individuals with central deafness (central nervous system) or non-organic deafness should not use this device.
Additional Notes:
- Do not immerse the hearing aid in any liquid. Remove the hearing aid before swimming or bathing. After swimming or bathing, wait for the ear canal to dry before wearing the hearing aid.
- After removing the hearing aid at night, it should be placed in a case with a desiccant if possible, protected from high humidity environment.
- The external surfaces of the hearing aid should be kept clean, and earwax in the eartips should be cleaned out daily.
